Even if not openly communicated, employers generally have the following expectations of co-op/intern students: Students should report to work regularly and punctually and should provide the employer with enthusiasm and productivity. Students should abide by work regulations as defined by the employer. Students are expected to dress appropriately for the work environment and according to employer expectations. Students should conduct themselves in a professional and businesslike manner. Disputes and conflicts should be handled in a mature and professional fashion. Students should seek feedback concerning their job performance. Students should consult their supervisor if unsure about procedures or expectations on the job or about any conflicts or concerns related to the assignment. While benefiting from on-the-job training and practical experience, students are expected to contribute fresh ideas and participate as valuable members of the work team.     Conducting yourself appropriately and making a sincere effort to produce high quality work will contribute significantly toward your success as an employee.
