Name: Matt Swanburg

Co-op Job:
Delta Air Lines

Through my co-op job at Delta, I got to see the operations side of management. We do studies, identify a problem, come up with a solution, and implement the new process, then study it afterwards to see if it saved time and money. Swanburg explained. Although it's not [exactly what I want to do] for my career, it was good for me to know that when I ask someone to do something in a management role, I'm not a disconnected manager. I know what goes on behind the scenes to make it happen.

Name: Sarah Rieger
Aerospace Engineering Co-op
Co-op Job:
NASA Johnson Space Center
Houston, TX

"While working in the Orbit Flight Dynamics group at Johnson Space Center in Houston, I had the opportunity to train for a supporting position in Mission Control. I also was able to complete the certification of a program that is now used by the Flight Dynamics Officer. Since I have been back at school, I've seen the benefits of the skills that I learned in Houston. I've noticed that organization and time management come much more easily to me now than they did before co-oping. I also have an even stronger motivation to do well in my classes! "

Name: Drew Wimmer
Electrical Engineering Co-op
Co-op Job:
Department of Defense (DoD)

“The co-op program has been an invaluable part of my experience at Tech. In addition to the opportunity to meet many new people, it provided me with a great deal of practical experience to compliment academic knowledge learned in the classroom. Additionally, it got my leg in the door for some really interesting full-time job opportunities, plus it gave me money so I wasn't the stereotypical broke college student. I highly recommend it for any engineering student, and if I were in charge I'd make it mandatory.”
